There are large grounds for outdoor games, badminton, table tennis, and for the less energetic - a hammock and sun loungers for soaking up the sun. The terrace is a great area for outdoor dining, and leads directly to the 10m x 5m pool, complete with diving board and a safety alarm. Leading from the kitchen there is also a pretty courtyard, with a stone bbq, outdoor table, and a gate into the gardens.

The house is situated between the bastide market towns of Duras (4km) and Monségur (10km) where there is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the beautiful 12th Century Château de Duras. Weekly markets are held in all the local towns and night markets are held during high season offering music, food and drink.

1/3

St Emilion (40 mins), Bergerac (35 mins) and the picturesque towns of the Dordogne, offering canoeing, boat cruises and riverside walks, are within easy reach by car. The historic city of Bordeaux is just over an hour's drive.

2/3

Closer to the house are tennis courts (racquets & balls provided in the house), cycling on very quiet roads (we have a selection of bikes in the garage), horseriding, an aerial adventure park, waterpark, and of course the many local vineyards who offer tastings and sales.

3/3

The house, grounds, and local area are the perfect location to escape from busy lives, to connect with nature and relax in a secluded, spacious, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

a tranquil retreat

MCTERNAN FAMILY

'Our Secret House'...the words of our 5yr old boy as we came up the driveway through trees to this peaceful, private, and picturesque cottage. Within minutes he and his 2yr old sister were in the pool and thoroughly enjoying their home for the next week. A wonderful family holiday with memories to cherish of breakfast, lunch and dinners on the veranda, bbqs, collecting apples and plums, table tennis, boule in the garden, local “go ape”, stunning St Emilion, and lovely relaxing lazy days in a real home from home!

WHITMORE FAMILY

Second stay in this amazing holiday home. Party of six; fell in love with this place last year & couldn’t find anything to match, so all in agreement to return again for our family holiday this year. Two wonderful weeks of pool, tennis, cycling, zip wiring, aqua fun park, and all the amazing places to visit in the beautiful surrounding areas. St Emilion once again was another highlight. The house has everything you would need, all the home comforts, & lots of space for family & down time.

COX FAMILY

A home from home. We spent an idyllic fortnight in this lovely house with everything you could need for a relaxed holiday. Duras is a lovely small town with great vineyards and tastings nearby. The house is really peaceful and spacious and the pool was a bonus during temperatures of up to 38 degrees. Bergerac and St Emilion are great day trips. Highly recommended.
